STAGE MAKEUP Grades: 10, 11, 12

*Class Supply Fee: $65 Various techniques of stage makeup will be practiced: straight, middle, old age, fantasy, scars, wounds, and latex. This course introduces the fundamentals of theatrical stage makeup. Students explore the five major styles of makeup: corrective, character, age, trauma, and fantasy. Through research, script analysis, and design projects, students learn the creative and technical processes used by professional makeup artists and designers. The course culminates in the creation of a portfolio showcasing students’ work. Students also have the opportunity to work on makeup crews throughout the year and are encouraged to participate in theatre department productions.

ADVANCED STAGE MAKEUP Grades: 11, 12

Stage Make-up and accepted application *Class Supply Fee: $20 Students will do personal research and design projects through different periods in history. In this course, students expand their study of theatrical makeup through more advanced techniques and independent design projects. Instruction includes the application of basic prosthetics, wig styling, and other specialized skills used by professional makeup artists. Students also assist with preparation for theatre department productions and gain additional hands-on experience in production environments. Participation on makeup crews throughout the year is strongly encouraged.
